    Hi all,

I have recently made my first return (form 12) for 2012 and have been (unfortunatley) requested to forward on receipts for expences, repairs etc for 2012.
I have also been requested to forward proof of registration with the PRTB.
Up until recently I never heard of them!!!
I live in a rural area and have a couple in my rented house since last March and do not have a lease etc with them as I know them well. I also do not have a mortgage on the house.
My question is would I get away with just registering with the PRTB from now (€90 I think) or do I need to backdate to March 2012 (€180 I think)?
    Cheers.

The PRTB question generally only comes up where you'd be looking to use mortgage interest as a deduction against taxable rental income. Im not sure why it would be important otherwise

    Hi,
Im told that by law you must be registered. Think that when Revenue have requsted proof of this from me I have may not have a choice?
