Working in the uk

I have been in full time employment in Ireland for 10 years but in July I am taking up a 12 month contract in England. I may end up staying in UK or moving back to Ireland after that but I won't know that until next year. My family will stay in Ireland for the 12 months and I will come home some weekends and holidays. I plan on bringing my car with me. From my understanding of the Revenue website I will have to pay my tax in Ireland as I will be resident here for tax purposes for 2013. Is this right?

Also if I end up staying in the UK for a number of years can I claim tax back later?

Also am I mad to think that I can just bring my car over and not register it in UK ( I know limit is 6 months but what are chances that nobody will notice). I intend telling my insurance company in Ireland.

    Thanks for advice.
