Brilliant days darts as expected with such a quality field. Lots of darts as competition was played on a Round Robin basis throughout. Last 16 consisted of 2 Sections of 8 with the top 4 players in each group progressing to the stage.

    Last 8
    Shane O'Connor
    John Burke
    Anto Turner
    Joe Byrne
    Gareth Gray
    Mick McGowan
    Dave O'Connor
    Glen Spearing

The last 8 players then played each other with the top 4 qualifying for the final stage. This was a tense and exciting struggle. Shane O'Connor topped the group but there was a 4 way playoff for the remaining 3 places. Odd man out and an unlucky loser was Mick McGowan who wired tops with 3 darts thus failing to qualify.

    Last 4
    Shane O'Connor
    Joe Byrne
    John Burke
    Gareth Gray

The Last 4 then played each other and the eventual deserving winner was Joe Byrne. Gareth Gray was 2nd and Shane O'Connor and John Burke were equal 3rd. Joe looked in trouble and in danger of elimination at various stages throughout the day but his tenacity and determination saw him through. Well done Joe. Indeed all the finalists are to be commended for their contribution to an exciting and brilliant days darts which augurs well for the future of Dublin Darts
