    Hey guys,

I'm just wondering if any posters here run or walk in the Slieve Bloom Mountains?

Haven't until now but fully intend to over the coming months.

Was actually up there today and did the three main climbs on the road bike. Tough going but beautiful.

Can't wait to get up there to run on the trails.

    Anything you want to know?

Don't want to know anything in particular; I've been running the trails myself for about 2 years (during summer), and I have only ever seen one other runner up there in all that time!

It's a beautiful place alright, I usually run around the glen barrow/ridge of capard area. Are there any good trails around your area (if you're not in the same area as myself that is)? I wouldn't mind scoping out a few new areas to add to the ones I already know. Same trails for 2 years can get a little samey, and they've started some tree harvesting around one of the better more secluded tracks.

Click on the "walking" tab and there's lots of choices.

Lots of options in Clonaslee, Cadamstown and Kinnitty, also point to point routes if you have someone to collect you at the other end.

Ive done a huge amount of running there over the past five years though i havent been up much lately.Ive recced the SB way, with the intention of doing it in the one go, but just havent gotten round to it yet, maybe late this summer. Id often run from my house to capard ridge for a round journey of exactly 20 miles.Great confidence booster as a lsr.

I believe there will be a race based in Glenbarrow again this year starting in the festival field perhaps on the last Sunday in June.
And you can guess the weight of the pig afterwards. It was 18kg last year :)
