Brent is at $99.90 today, and I haven't seen a single reduction in Newbridge for the past 4 weeks, even though Brent fell by almost $20!

I'm starting to think this is a cartel operating, since all petrol stations in Newbridge have their prices set at 1.599 petrol and 1.509 diesel. ALL 5 of them.

Have there been reductions at your local petrol stations? (Note: It should be about 6-7c in the last 4 weeks)

Petrol prices have definitely fallen in the past few weeks. It was creeping up to over 160 while most places are now back under 159 again.

Newbridge has always been an oddball town for petrol prices. I remember a few years ago the stations up by Dunnes/Tescos started some price war one day which saw the prices nosedive to 90 odd for a day when they had been well over the Euro. I think now they have some kind of Mexican standoff with pricing which means it stays pretty much identical throughout the town.

I think I remember someone discussing this months ago on the news and they said any reduction in oil prices takes 3-4 months to effect pump prices.

If you want to go real technical, it's the name of on the Jurassic Formation beds in the north sea. Shell/Exxon used to name them after birds, in this case the Brent Goose.

1.428 for diesel in Urlingford yesterday.

It's been creeping down over the last few weeks in other towns too, including North Tipp

Aye, it's funny how when the price goes up, the price in petrol station goes up over night. When price goes down, the price comes down in about 3-4months. That is if you feel lucky and there were no increases during those 3-4months...

€1.528 in AShbourne a couple of days ago but €164.9 in Finglas the same day. Dublin prices are insane consistently by about 10c per litre higher from the places I've seen

This really pisses me off, why cant the decreases be as quick as the increases?
And no, dont give me the crap of "oh, poor garage owners business is tight" because no it isnt, garages are not a charity and they wouldnt be there if they weren't making a profit

OT, seems to have dropped 2c/litre for diesel around town. My usual place is at 146.9, while the more expensive Topaz is still at 150.9 (the one on Kylemore Road near the maccy ds

I think it is funny how people make assumptions with no facts to back them up.

155.9 for petrol is the cheapest in Enniscorthy, the owners of that place don't up their prices when the price of oil goes up until a new delivery arrives. The other stations around the town crib over this as they raise prices straight away.

Was told last week that they'd have the price lower but were contacted by Topaz and told not to drop it any further.

Nice to see prices fall but I reckon they should be even lower.

Ah. The vague statement. Appears at first as all knowing, but when you read it there is nothing behind it.

Facts of what I said speak for themselves.

Increases in prices are applied within hours
    decreases take much longer.

What is there that you do not comprehend?
