    Hi Guys,
apologies if this has been asked before, I have done a search, but couldn't find anything. Can a Ferguson Ariva 150 be used to recieve Arabsat or Nilesat. I don't see any reason why not, as it's only the signal, assuming the dish is big enough and of course pointed in the right direction. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

you'll need planning permission for a dish large enough to pick it up. Probably 2.5m plus. Have not heard of anyone managing to get nilesat

Which Arabsat? You should be able to get Badr 4 @ 26 degrees east with ~1 metre dish in most parts of Ireland. (Though you say the dish isn't a problem, anyway.)

A chap has made an offer on a box I'm selling, and has asked me if it will recieve these ie. nilesat or arabsat. I know a bit about Sat stuff, but I wouldn't have a clue about the foreign sat.
    Thanks

It would work yes, Not sure how compatible it would be for pay tv from Nilesat. But like what has been said, the receiver will be fine, its the size of dish that's the problem if its going to be used here.

    Hi,

I can get Nilesat 7w on a 1.2 metre dish (west coast Isle of Man) not all the transponders come in because I haven't tweaked the dish for this sat - not a lot there I want (and you can get MBCs for example much stronger on Badr 26e).

However even with the dish not properly aligned its reasonable strength 11393 V is coming in at 70 Signal and 44 Quality others similar.

Wasn't expecting to get it at all the footprint maps would lead you to believe you would need a massive dish - but there you go!

    Cheers
