Could someone advise me on the procedure for disposing of a firearm, it's not worth much so I don't want the hassle of selling it.

    Thanks.

Fill out an FCA2, and have the license cancelled. Surrender the firearm to a local gun dealer or to the Garda Station. Some stations do not take in firearms, and nominate a dealer to do it on their behalf so the best thing to do is fill out your FCA2, and go talk to your firearms officer and ask them what way they want you to surrender the gun.

Or you could give it away on boards to someone who might have use for it. They'd have to licence it of course, but maybe someone could get use out of your rubbish?

Could always give it away for free as said..

Disposing it could cost you 50-100quid.

If it has any sentimental value you could get it deactivated and keep it without paying the licence fee.
