    hi All,

Just wondering is anyone familiar with the P307, 1.4 16V engine.

I was changing the oil on one for a family member and the oil filter just didn't seem right.

I know there was two different oil filters for these engines and I took out the old filter with me and got the new one.

But after I fitted it, it didn't slip all the way to the bottom like i would of expected. Also it doesn't look like the oil is passing through the filter rather it can go around it based on the size of it.

I'm thinking maybe the last person who serviced it put the wrong filter into it and i've just made the same mistake.

    Anyone ever seen these before?

    Thanks

It's the paper cartridge insert yeah and not the metallic all-in-one?

What size does it say on the filter/filter box?

    These are the measurements

Also typing the reg into www.micksgarage.com should give you the right filter specs.

I'll check the box, it still on the bench in the garage. Its a cartridge type filter, like you've shown above.

It seems like the interior diameter is too small and it doesn't slip all the way over the plastic centre in the filter housing.

I've changed filters/oil for years now and never had a problem. Also you assume changing like for like is the way to go, but not so sure now :S
