Q1. The Compton Effect supports the theory that photons which have no mass do have momentum. Explain.

Q2. Explain the origin of sharp intense lines in x-ray spectra from metal targets.

Any help would be much appreciated :)

I'm preparing for an exam, it's not homework.

this is a more general suggestion for exam preparation, but may work for this case too, and that is, if you want to find notes/explanations for a particular college course, do a google search for some of the words unique to that course and then restrict it to search for ppt files only by putting in filetype:ppt in your search. This usually returns loads of lecture notes from all the other institiutions in the world where lecturers put up notes. Also looking for pdfs can be handy too, I found this incredibly useful when I was doing my exams, or even more recently when I wanted to find presentations on something I was looking into, there are powerpoint presentations on so many things online, it's great :D

Exam prep or homework; the same principal applies. The questions you posted look like homework assignments or questions from past papers or some such.

If you want to get help from the posters here, I'm sure many will be able to help, but there's more than one way to skin a cat!

    My suggestions:
    - Unless the second question is a direct follow on from the first one, start a separate thread for each one.
    - Let us know how much of the subject you understand already, and where you're getting stuck. Say "I understand the concept of what an x-ray spectrum is, but I don't understand..." or whatever the case may be.

Unfortunately, I don't know enough on these subjects to help you, but, if you ask right, someone else here will.
