I cancelled my eircom phone service and account last December and recieved my "Final Eircom Bill" dated 2nd January. It said that I was €35.32 in credit and I assumed this would be refunded to me by cheque. This never happened.

I finally sent a letter last week stating that my account was closed and formally requesting a refund of my credit. I even enclosed a copy of my final bill. It all seemed very clear to me.

I received a prompt reply telling me that eircom were writing to inform me that my cancel request would be actioned 1 month from now. This despite the fact that the account has long been cancelled and I received my final bill in January.

Is there any way to contact eircom to request the refund of my money other than sending a letter (which will not be read and be answered by the wrong automated letter) or by phoning eircom and having to jump through hoops just to wait ages for a service representative?

    No problem Charles,
