    Hi all,
have we seen this piece of legislation in the UK? Grant it some people may not like Instagram but Im of the opinion that its a great way of sharing images with friends, and the more people taking photos the better.

I read a piece a while back about the possible introduction of law regarding the so called orphaned works in the US, but they were still having debates about the checks and balances that someone would have to go through before they could claim the work. A big part of that was registering your works with the US copyright office.

It does beg the question though if they don’t know who the photographer is what law applies, British law where they are stealing your photograph or Irish law where I retain the copyright?

It was drafted to protect photographers work but something (all of it) has gotten lost in translation on the way to be made law and with social media websites stripping exif as standard it looks bad for the UK (also other countries)
