Our family moved to Ireland about 9 months ago from the States. I am wondering if there are any events or groups in the Co. Wicklow area for new people to the country or county to meet other people. Anyone know of anything like this being held? If not, you anyone be interested in a group like this being formed/held locally? I'd be interested in creating a group if one does not exist and there was interest. thanks!

I'm not sure if there are any specific groups for new immigrants.

The Wicklow Community directory can be a good source of info

Also if you are setting up a group meetup.com can be good but I would suggest advertising it well through local papers and radio too

I think there is a Bray Intercultural committee if that is of any use?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Try to get your children involved in local sports. They will meet other children, and as parents you will then easily meet other parents.

    Welcome to Wicklow...

Try Acorn community group, they seem to run many activities in the Wicklow / Rathdrum area, including toddler groups, summer camps etc.
