Big game tonight in terms of the relegation battle with the table looking like so:
    6d7e9e9c2207c5eb6f60de5c4773a06b.png?1367241622

A win for Villa would see them go level with Sunderland and Newcastle while a win for Sunderland would see them virtually guaranteed safety.

From the Villa thread, they may line out like so:
    Guzan

    Lowton Vlaar Clark Baker

    Westwood Delph Sylla

    Wiemann Benteke Gabby

Sunderland will probably line up like this:
    Mignolet

    Bardsley/Colback O'Shea Cuellar Rose

    Johnson N'Diaye Gardner Larsson/McClean

    Sessegnon

    Graham

    Prediction: 1-1

Yeah a draw wouldn't surprise me. Both teams will be terrified of losing.

If Sunderland can turn up and fight for Di Canio like they have in the last 3 games it's going to be a tough night for Villa, saying that though Sunderland would probably take a point here before kick off, anything but a loss for them at this stage of the season.

    Villa need to win IMO.

they don't want to be trusting to that final game of the season against Wigan, plus they have a poorer GD than Wigan.

they won't want to lose, but a win is far more advantageous.

Villas next and last home game of the season is hosting Chelsea who'll be bulling for 3 points for a UCL place, that shoudl be an interesting game with 2 teams really needing the win, tonight I wouldnt be surprised if it was a draw but Villa do need the win to drag the teams above them into it and put some daylight between them and Wigan.

As Slick said, theyed really not want to be going to the DW on the last day needing points to stay up.

Villas side has more goals in it but also a greater likelihood to concede.

That or Zog really did nothing for us last week.

Gonna give this a watch. Have some money on Benteke @ 6/1 or any keeper @ 16/1 for MOTM. Hopefully Villa pick up the win as I have a lot of time for Lambert too for obvious reasons.

Going for a draw or a narrow Villa win. Should be a good atmosphere, Villa fans all seem to be behind the team so they should create a lot of noise.

    Gabby's touch/control is awful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

Lee Probert has been woeful so far. Does he even have a whistle?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,951 ✭✭✭✭CSF

Honest to god, if Gabby wasn't as fast as he is, would he even be able to make it at League 1/League 2 level?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 482 ✭✭jimmy the car

Sylla just seems incapable of going to meet a ball so far, he's waiting for it to come to him so far really needs to change that soon

What a chance. Nice link up play from Villa.

Lol, was thinking that ten minutes ago (or whenever I do see him play). Very fortunate he has raw pace.

Jesus, what a game this is turning out to be. Sunderland's goal was a beauty, in fairness; lovely one-touch moves.
