Thinking of doing the maracycle, but only one way. Just wondered what are people's experience of it? Also thinking of doing the Dublin to Belfast leg and wondered if there is transport back to Dublin.

I did the Maracycle last time it went from Dublin to Belfast, after completing the route, I cycled to Belfast station, had a beer and waited for the train with 6 or 7 like minded souls, then cycled home from Connolly after a few more ales en route ;)

I was at the sharp end of the finishers and the train had a special carriage with hooks we hung the bikes up on, and there was excess capacity on my train, not sure what the story was later in the day when there were more finishers.

Good cycle, nice tailwind that year too!

Any idea what the route you took was? I am looking to do a Belfast to Dublin cycle with a few friends but the dates for the Maracycle do not suit me as I am away.

Or does anybody know what route is being taken this year? Does it take the A1 to Newry and then the old dublin road the whole way?
