I have a 7mnt old baby and my sister hardly ever visit me. i live about 1hr away from them. The only one who visits is my mother. I haven't seen my dad in nearly 7mths. I popped up to my parents home a few times but they are either not around or not bothered. They come and visit friends in my locations and even someone else who had a baby but they just aren't interested in my child. Whenever they ring it's to talk about their problems and never seem interested in how my child is doing. Now my baby crys and make strange with them if we do seem them. Should I say something? I don't want them to babysit or anything. I just miss my family.

Is there any particular reason like a family falling out that they're not interested? Or are they generally not that interested or close to you?

Maybe a positive way is to give them a direct invite to come over and meet your baby, or if you have pics share them online with them? You can do that through say like photobucket or flickr (I know the former you definitely can) if they don't have an account on a social network site but do have an email address.

are you the first to have a child? Are your sister(s) in a different stage of life than you where meeting/spending time with a baby might not be a huge priority or interest for them generally, or have they kids of their own and just unable to get around to seeing you?

    I just miss my family.

Say that. I miss you guys, I'm lonely for family connections, I'd love to see you more. Tell them you feel disconnected and you're not sure why. There could be lots of reasons, especially if you are close to them and there hasn't been a falling out. Just off the top of my head, if you read through Mother & Baby forums sometimes new Mothers can really, really not like people dropping in on them uninvited because they're overwhelmed by everything that comes with having a baby for the first time, they might not know that they're welcome over possibly? Have you invited them over?
