Google+ and Picassa are well integrated at the moment I find. Photos from my phone are instantly uploaded to Google+ and my instant upload folder on Picassa, they both use the same common folder. And vice versa, anything I stick into a folder via picassa appear on all my android devices.

Using Picassa from an android device you can select what folder you want them to go into, or with instant upload you can simply move them in the appropriate folder very easily.

Picasa was around long before Google+ I suppose, and as you said yourself it seems you may be getting pushed towards Google+, they're not just going to shut off Picasa immediately.

There's only one folder created, that's the instant upload one. After that everything is easily manageable. If you use Picasa you can select a specific folder to upload too, otherwise create a new one.

They'll probably get to having only the one solution eventually.

Is Android stalling lately? 4.1 Jelly Bean. 4.2 Jelly Bean (now the hours are in bold and there's lock screen widgets), 4.3 Jelly Bean.... What'll the changes be, it's now slightly more blue?

    People use Google+?

I'm stuck with a HTC, what was I thinking. I'll be on 4.0.4 for the next 14 more months with HTC Sense constantly rebooting, lagging, delaying, hanging etc and not much hope of a 4.1.1 update let alone 4.2. This fragmentation is infuriating. I've gone from Andriod fan to looking longingly at the lovely user experience iPhone 5 users have while I wait for 10+ seconds for my keyboard to appear!

iOS hasnt been changing much either. The platform is starting to mature and we cant expect the leaps and bounds of cupcake, froyo and gingerbread. Vanilla android is pretty good all round now, its just the manufacturers that need to catch up. Its a shame all phones cant be nexus devices, who really needs touchwiz or sense or SE home.

Google may have decided to hold 5.0 back as I have been hearing rumours that they have lost the plot with manufacturers destroying Android and creating the huge fragmentation issues, for some development aspects on HTC devices you even need to add a HTC SDK to the standard Android one. And rumours of an "Evil" Android are floating around whereby it will no longer be open source.

Personally I think this would be a good thing, as both a user and a developer at this stage in Androids life it would the right thing to do, they did try it wit tablets on 3.0 though and it didn't work out too well as manufacturers didn't pick it up.

Another reason and probably more likely is that manufacturers simply haven't caught up with Jellybean yet so adding another big update now will just increase the already ridiculous fragmentation and create a headache for consumers.

New rumors that iOS 7 will be a bit different than 6, less glossy icons and such.
So with Android 5 we might see a similar shift as to not appear stale.

Yep, suppose to be an actual big change, meant to be going more like Windows phone, even more simplistic.

I've been thinking they may be holding back 5.0 to release with the next nexus phone, it makes sense to release the new OS with a new phone and then get into the cycle of a big update with a new phone octoberish and a small update Juneish each year.
