Using Kies with Samsung Galaxy S4

Has anyone tried using Kies with their Galaxy S4 to transfer over details from a Nokia?

I was hoping to follow these instructions here http://mobileyog.blogspot.ie/2012/07/transfer-contactscalendar-notes-from.html

Basically you create a backup of your Nokia phone with Nokia Suite into a NBU file. Then you use Kies to import the NBU file information into your Samsung phone.

But when I load up Kies I do not get the option "Transfer your Back Up Data from your non-Samsung device". Any ideas?

I am using Version 2.5.3.13043_14 of Kies.

What I am trying to do copy across the following from a Nokia to my S3:

    1) Contacts
    2) Calendar information
    3) Notes

Any ideas on how to get Kies working or an alternative for copying across the above?

Anybody got Kies to work with an S4? I have upgraded from an S2 to S4. Backed up all my data from the S2 using Kies and now I want to download all the data back to the S4. But when I plug in the Galaxy S4 and launch Kies, I got a message saying "Connecting" and that's it. It stays like that forever.

    Any help appreciated.

I synced all my music through Kies.
Like you it took ages to connect, I waited about 5 mins and eventually it worked. Maybe try it again.

Thanks. I went onto the Samsung site and in the help section they had an article on it. Seems Media Player 11 is a pre req for Kies and the S4. So I upgraded Media player from 9 to 11 and it worked !! Albeit still pretty slow compared to the S2. So at least I have the data downloaded now.

Lots of stuff different on the S4. Going to take some time to get used to it. I loved the task manager (Active applications) being visible by default on the S2. Need to follow a few steps on the new one it seems to get at it.

Samsung have an application to transfer over backups from various phone types. Work with my Nokia back up to my S4. http://www.samsung.com/us/smart-switch/

If you want to just transfer contacts you could export them all to your computer as VCF files. Combine all VCF files into one. Then import them onto your S4 using Kies. See here http://bscexp.blogspot.ie/2012/07/how-to-transfer-contact-from-nokia-to.html

    Hope this helps.
