Had the board replaced on my phone. Has stock firmware on it but the internet is brutally slow 21kbps down 41 up and a 441ms ping.
    Speeds are fine on wifi..
    APN settings are ok too.
    Any help would be appreciated

Sounds like Edge. Try setting WCDMA only(In network settings, mobile) and see if that forces it up to 3G.

Just watch out, if you go into a GSM only area it wont connect with that setting.

You mean internet only or phone calls also.?

    Is there a solution?

Everything. And not really, but its not really a problem unless you live rurally. Ive been on WCDMA only for ~8 months Id say, never had a problem. Not surprising has dublin has great coverage. In the middle of Mayo the same cant be said.

On Auto("WCDMA preferred") it should switch between the two, but the more it checks for a new tower, the more battery is burned, so it will only check periodically. That means you can "get stuck" on a poor GSM signal until your handset realizes it can hop back on WCDMA again.

    Easy easy!!!
I have gotten speeds over 11Mbps and my normal speed would be anywhere between 2-6 Mbps. I live in the middle of rural Mayo!!!

You must have LOS on a mast so. Thats the ideal situation as contention will be really low.
