Tax Refund Waiting Time - Supervisor?

    Just wondering has anyone applied for a paye refund recently? How long did it take to process?

    I wasn't able to do mine online as a company I have never worked for submitted a false return for me so I had to send in a letter declaring I never worked for them etc.

    Paperwork was received by them and assigned on 15th March. It was processed 16th April but then sent to a supervisor for checking (guessing its because it was for quite a lot) - how long more will it be??? Revenue said they couldn't tell me. I'm totally stressed out, have a holiday booked for 2 weeks and need this money to pay for it. I get a refund every year and most it ever took before was 4 weeks from applying to having money in the bank

    Depending on the amount of cases assigned to the person reviewing your case, it could be a while. Fewer staff with increased demands on stretched resources equals a return to workloads building up.

    You could try phoning to state your case on how urgently you need the refund. Sometimes this will work, but be prepared for it not to, as workitems are supposed to be worked in strict date order.
