hi just looking for a bit of advice.

my other half wants to learn how to drive so is applying for a learners permit.

problem she has is that she has no real ID. she has this thing called an ML10.

But it had ran out she went to the motor tax office and showed the ML10
but the lady told her that she needed to get i new one or a passport.

so we got a new one and now they are saying that the ML10 is not acceptable.but the ML10 was acceptable when she took the theory test its also acceptable for opening a bank account and was good enough for the guards.

i know people are gonna say get a passport but that is not an option at the moment due to finances.

    anyone any idea please

My experience of dealing with Laois council is that they will accept a birth cert as valid ID.

You should ask them what they expect from a 16 year old looking for a permit for a moped? Most 16 year olds would not have photo ID.

i know it would be the way to go but there is a problem there too my other half is Spanish and she lost her birth cert a while back in a house fire.
The trouble getting that again is a pain too
