Summer Golf Shoes V Asto Turf Trainers

The other thread on golf shoes has me thinking I should prob invest in a new pair sooner rather than later.

Is there any difference between the summer golf shoes? Eg adidas adiCross and your bog standard Astroturf trainers ?

I was thinking of picking up a pair of the adiCross for over the summer and was wondering if anyone has tried them out ? Do you lose anything by wearing them and are they as comfortable as they look ?

I’ve been searching sportsdirect and looking at the base of the Astroturf trainers they look exactly the same but are half the price?

Do you think there is any difference between the two products and are the golf ones double the price because that’s what us golfers all use to paying?

I got these last week and they are excellent. I would only wear them in summer but they are lovely and light and comfortable.

I do think there is a different, astro's would be narrower in my experience, with padding/laces in weird places for golf. Also I think the sole is much more flexible in the astros.

I was looking at those for myself greebo, but they have the traditional cleats on the bottom not like the adiadas ones that have little rubber studs/spikes.

I might head out to blanch today and try on some pairs in mcguirks and then try some astro runners in sports world. If there is a difference I'll go with the fotjoys. Sure at that price you can't go wrong.

By any chance has anyone tried the adiCross ?

Loads of clubs specify soft spikes only. Does that rule out the rubber studs?
