Right Guys I am going to try and get this up and running. I think IAAF site will do one up but the new format is not a patch on the old one so as such I am going to operate one from the here for anyone interested

Rules

Your athletes will score points based on what they do in real-life IAAF Samsung Diamond League meetings. The team that gains the most points over the course of the 14-meeting season will top the overall standings.

Athletes will win 10 points every time they place first in an event final. They will receive 8 points for finishing as runner-up, 7 points for placing third, 5 points for fourth, 4 points for fifth, 3 for sixth, 2 for 7th and 1 for 8th

Athletes who do not start or finish their event will receive 0 points but athletes who are disqualified with be penalized with a -5 score.

The team captain will earn double points, which means he or she will receive 20 points for winning an event, 14 points for coming second, 10 points for coming third and so on.

Athletes who achieve a Meeting Record will also receive double points in that event while anyone who sets a new World Record will earn triple points in that event.

However what makes it interesting is that Each athlete can only be picked twice over the course of the Season meaning that you have to pick wisely as you are talking about 35 separate athletes over the course of the season (5 picks in each meet)

I will try and arrange some form of prize for the overall winner.

1st competition starts in just over 2 weeks time (may 10th)

Starting lists will be available here and teams must be picked at the latest 1 hour before the scheduled start time of 1st Diamond league event

While not in the original rules I have made an addition bonus. A perfect score will get you a bonus 5 points (Brian was the only one here with such a result but trailed due to Meeting record bonuses)

I am also going to have a 2 throw away results in case anyone who missed last nights meet can still jump in. Of the 14 Meetings only your 12 best scores will count.

Again due to me not posting up I don't think its fair for me to just take these points so I will leave the decision up to you guys

Reminder anyone who wants to enter just submit a team. Worst two meetings for each person discarded so you can still score maximum points despite missing last week.

Some interesting picks long the way especially with a few head to heads it looks like in predictions;

SS43 and Brian going head to head in the Javelin with Pitkamaki and Veseley. Veseley got the better of the two in Doha but Pitkamaki's consistent throwing could payoff if Veseley has an off day

Brian will also go up against Pisco in the 400m hurdles with it very much being a case of SB vs PB with Hejnova starting the year better but you can't discount Demus

Myself and dna_leri in the discuss with Kanter and Milachowski. Kanter getting the better of Milachowski in the Olympics but being a slow season starter could struggle

Less than stellar round from me with Merritt and Jelimo decimating my team. Super double double results for dna_leri scoring more with his captain than I did overall this week

Bad day at the office with a DNS from my captain.
Will have to work bit harder for next week.

I see the big race (10K) in Eugene is not a diamond league event. Should be good though with 7 sub 27 mins there including Farah, Bekele, Merga & half a dozen Kenyans.

The switch to Thursday caught me out too. At least I can discard this week and I did not waste any of my selection as a few of the favourites have still to come good.
