Got the option of putting on Lassa, Hancook or Kumho tyres on my car. Don't do much driving - probably 100 miles per week, mostly on motorway dual carriageway at a sedate pace.

Anyone got knowledge of these options?

I'd go with the Hankooks from that list. My father has them on his Auris and they are a fine tyre for the money.

Used to have set of Kumho on my Mazda 6. They were average at most. Very bad if you happen to go through some surface water on the road. Fitted Pirelli P6000 after the Kumhos and was glad I got rid of them.

Friend of mine has set of Hancooks on her Golf MKlll. Grip is excellent when going around the bends, acceptable when accelerating or braking. Amazingly quiet tyre too.

    No experience with Lassa.

Be aware that some models from the same manufacturer could be very good while different models aren't as much.

Thinking about getting 4 Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta 225/45/17 from Camskill.

    Special offer £79.95 each.

It works out at €415 for 4 tyres incl. delivery. Don't think I could get a better tyre for that kind of money?

Great tyre, have them on my 3 Series but the walls are fragile on them.

What's the road noise like with these?

I had Bridgestone RE040's last and the noise what's crazy. Keep looking at these but not sure wether to pay the extra for Conti's.

No complaints regarding road noise. Just to note that the Ultrac Sessenta have now been replaced by the Ultrac Vorti. Sessenta are still a great tyre, have about 20k km on mine and still have plenty of thread on them but as I said just be careful of the walls, they don't tolerate any sort of contact with kerbs, etc even at low speed.

For €460 you can get Goodyear eagle f1 asymmetric fitted and balanced. Much better tyre.

Was considering them too. Is that price from an Irish seller, or from camskill and getting my own fitter?

That's what Camskill website shows, but it's based average exchange rate.
Unless you have possibility to buy sterling at average rate without commission, you will more likely pay about 430 considering sterling buying exchange rate + commission.

Discount tyres in Blanchardstown, checked again. Actually €130 fitted per tyre.

Reviews here don't put much between either:

Any difference between the Ventus Prime 2, Ventus V12 Evo or Ventus S1 evo? Talk about being blinded by choice - even if one can settle on a single brand - the work is not done!!

    Cheers for that.

Might ring a few tyre places for a quote, and see if it's actually worth my while.

Camskill are fast. Ordered last night and dispatched today, estimated delivery Tuesday.

Getting 4 tyres fitted, 4 Shocks and Springs (Bilstein B8's & Eibach Pro-Kit) and wheel alignment for €280. Not bad I reckon.
