large deposit for car hire spain

hi i'm looking to hire a car in spain in a few weeks the only problem is that my credit card is not in a healthy condition most companies look for €600-€1000 of a deposit which wont be on my card is there any way around this by buying extra insurance ????

Yep, I've gone with Centuro car hire many times. Just book the optional extra insurance, I think it's about €50 or €60 but pretty much everything is covered. Keep in mind when you go to pick up the car that you'll have to pay for a tank of petrol/diesel. Can be up to €100 and ask them if you return full will they refund the petrol money back to your card. Sometimes they'll allow it depending on length of car hire.
