Renewing Learners Permit with change of name & EDT

I am rewnewing my learners permit but my name has changed in the last two years from the Irish form to the English. When I first applied 2 years ago I got my permit back in my Irish name, and went on and did my EDT in my Irish name. The problem is I have to present my EDT logbook at my test and if I change my name on my permit now, I will walk into my next test with EDT book in an Irish name and Permit in English and I don't want to give them a reason to refuse my test. Should I keep the name the same and change it later to the English when I apply for my full licence? Or will they be OK if I explain the situation?

Also the renewal form provides two options a "Known As" name option and a "Change of name" option.

What would happen if I applied with my Irish name but put my "known as" name down as my english name, would my "known as" name appear on the permit?

    Heres the new application http://www.rsa.ie/Documents/Licensed%20Drivers/D201_Learner_Permit_app_form.pdf

    Thanks all
