    Hey,

My driveshaft RF was replaced for my Laguna 1.8 2001 car. I got charged €500,00 while the part was only €75.00

Any mechanics out here who can comment on the labour charge of 4 hours of labor- does it normally take so long to replace a drive shaft?

    Cheers!

I'm not overly familiar with Renault but 4 hours does seem excessive.

Well you can buy a 2001 laguna for €500 so, ya it's a tad expensive. Maybe €200 would have been about the price. It's always worth asking how much something is going to cost before getting it fitted but still €425 for 4 hours labour is a complete ripp off unless it's a main dealer and even at that your in Joe Duffy land.

I used to get my diesel laguna serviced and repaired by Renault main dealer thinking I would have trouble free motoring and good car.

What I learned was they stuck me for every euro they could and the car died a slow painful death over the years. 127 point checks or what ever it was and still fail NCT

Cant recommend enough find a good indy for better pricing as main dealers are too greedy and do very little

No way is that a four hour job hour and a half max.

Id be going back asking why you were charged four hours and look for some of my money back.

Was this done by Renault by any chance?

I'd price around a few main dealers and see what the official line is on how long it takes. Seems a tad excessive.

Did they not give you a price beforehand?
