returning to work in the HSE

just looking for some feedback from current HSE employees -

i'm thinking of returning to work in the public health system. currently working in a busy private hospital and last worked for the HSE in 2008 so its changed alot since then. i'm wondering would people think this is a sensible move taking into account all the croke park 2 issues going on at the moment. it would be 2014 before i would change.

my thoughts for changing are 1. job security 2. better working environment as regards opportunites etc patient mix etc 3. better pension - maybe not for too much longer 4. more of a challenge and a change of scenery

my current place of work are not much better than the HSE. i havent had any increments since starting in 2008 and have taken a 7% paycut so pay wise i may not be too far ahead of my colleagues in the public hospitals. sick leave entitlements are terrible - reduced pay for 3 months and then nothing. everything is operating on a shoestring and everything has been cut including maternity leave entitlements so overall while the HSE isint a bed of roses at the minute, neither is my current employment. i'm not fazed by lack of staff etc long waiting lists etc as we're as bad here really constantly begging for staff!

anyway all thoughts appreciated - just wanted to get a feel for conditions in the HSE at the moment.
