Hi guys I got offered an apprenticeship with virgin media in Hook, hampshire the role offered in data & administrative co-ordinator , I really want to take this role as its better than being unemployed here in Ireland but the thing is I'm two months pregnant not really showing but would that ruin my chances?

Can I still get maternity leave while on an apprenticeship

It's Virgin Media and you're pregnant, they're not going to be happy, you totally went against their namesake!

If you want to take it up, take it up. If you are an employee (not sure how apprenticeships work) then they cannot withdraw the offer on the grounds of pregnancy. Actually I would say it would be discriminatory to withdraw the offer.

I am not sure what the mat leav regulations are for apprentiships, but some googling should find that out. How long is the apprenticeship for?

Offhand, based on European law, that there is a blanket protection for pregnant women who are employed being dismissed due to pregnancy, expect in very rare cases. So I'd say this would cover work apprenticeships, but you might wish to double check on the citizen's advice website.

Well, technically they cannot let you go for being pregnant the fact that you didn't disclose it in the hiring process and then spring it on them 6 weeks into the job and looking for maternity leave can sometimes get management pee'd off in a big way.
So while the can't fire you for being pregnant, they could fire you for some other reason. Like if you were late or if you made some minor mistake. If they want to fire you, they usually will be able to find some other reason to do so.

I know of a situation like this and the manager saw it as deception and scrutinized her work checking for dotted i's and crossed t's, desperately trying to find some way to get rid of her.

It's not the best start to a new job.

It all depends on what you want. Do you REALLY want this job?
If so, do you think you would
    consider an A******n?

Rude is putting it mildly. Do not post anything like that again here, alpaca_man.
