    Is it normal for a 2002 Hiace diff to have the bearings go ? it's whining like a good thing, yes there's oil in it and the oil looks clean. it only has 138,000miles on it. I though these things went on forever :(:(.

    Don't know about the newer ones but the bearings would go on the older 2.4s. Have one such failed example in the garage somewhere....

    We have done a few of them alright. They are easy to change.

    Is it the pinon bearing or the main carrier bearings that give trouble?
