small engine jeep type cars ,such as jimny ,pajero jnr ,terios..

want something with rear door access for dog cage for bringing dog to vet, parks, etc etc..

am thinking of pajero jnr as its 1.1 and has room in back when seats folded for cage/crate..

terios has a good rep can anyone vouch for them,or any others?

link or two if ya know one for sale cheap (budget 1500) would need nct

    thanks in advance

Unless you like the look of them or need 4x4 something like a yaris verso or Berlingo multispace would be a far better option

Vitara or Jimny much better offerings than a Jr. if you ask me,

Pajero Jr. are quite rare on the road so parts are rare, dont think they were ever sold here either so dealers wont be very helpful when you look for parts, many of their parts are bespoke to them so expect big €€€ bills if things go wrong.

Havent any experience/opinions on a terios tbh...

Vitaras arent bad, theyre ugly enough but fairly robust,

Plenty go in the 1.6, not too dear to keep going, plenty parts available and very capable off road too.

As per what Colm said if you dont need 4wd ^

I had a Jimny for about 2 years and it was a great little jeep. Very reliable and cheap to service. Not too economical on fuel as it was a small engine pulling quite a bit of metal. We probably got in the low 30's for typical subarban driving.

It has hard suspension so you bounce around a bit. Decent amount of rear space with the seats dropped but terrible with the rear seats up.

I'd have no problem getting one again.

Whichever you get make sure to have a bumper protector or they will leave many scratches over the years getting in and out.

I have a pejero IO pinin 1.8 GDI and it is great i have used it extensively off road and it preforms a million times better than you would imagine I have gone up some pretty hair raising stuff. It's grand on the road too not too bad on juice and plenty of room inside.
