heathrow terminal 5

    I have a five hour connecting time in T5. If I want to leave the building how long does security take when you get back in? Also do they have cafes in area before you get into security?

    They definitely have cafes before security: 3 of them, according to this.

    Couple of cafe's. Security - well it depends on the time of day etc, just like any airport.

    Well airports vary, that's why I am asking. And so do terminals within the airports.

    Dublin can take forever where Shannon is pretty easy. JFK a freaking nightmare. Stanstead a nightmare. I dont usually travel through Heathrow, make a point of avoiding it.

    I've never had a wait of longer than 5 mins at T5 security, usually passing through at about 1-2pm. T5 won the Skytrax best airport terminal award 2013, with LHR also taking top-spot for Airport shopping facilities. I've never even noticed a shop landside as I head straight for security, though options are plentiful airside.
