hey just purchaced a 2004 1.6HDI model today, the center display console is knackered completely, common fault I hear, how much is this to replace?

Common problem alright....There fine when cold but when the heat up the are unreadable...:(
If you go down the s/h route then you maybe left with the same problem...theres a guy selling them on adverts here...

Try this guy he may be able to repair the old one, he has done lots of similar work for us although never a 407 display but given the fact that they are a common failure he may repair them:
