My screed is dry (Calcium sulphate) and after getting quotes and advice from several tilers about the next phase, I have purchased the correct flexible adhesive and flexible grout to go with the new tiles.

However I am getting conflicting information about primer, some say you have to use it otherwise the adhesive will eventually unbond and others have told me not to apply it as the adhesive wont bond at all.confused.png

Also getting conflicting information about which primer/sealer I should use.confused.png

The bags of flexable grout state that a primer should be used on the screed, my problem is the 'professional' tilers who say it should be used cant seem to agree on what should be used as primer.

If it says to use a primer then do. Go to your local paint store and ask them to give you advice on the type of primer to use or alternatively (sorta last resort) email or telephone the technical department of the company who manufacture/distribute the grout.

I think your screed installer / supplier should really be advising you on what primer to use on their screed installation.

I had the hemi-hydrate screed installed which I think is the same as yours and I used SMET Universal Floor Primer to prime all floors before covering.

Thanks for the replies, ended up getting 5 litres of PCI Primer G, its specifically for hemi hydrate floors. 5 litres was enough to give a 35 sq/m area two undilluted coats.
