Just got a second hand washing machine.. But the new fittings dont seem to connect properly to my pipes. Water leaks out even though I used the black rubber washers and tightened them...

I've tried the old connections and they still fit perfectly without leaking... Are there two sizes of these?

The threads on the the 2nd hand washing machine hose may be worn out or cross threaded or indeed the rubber washers may have perished replace them and see what happens

    Thanks for your response...

So there IS only one type of connection then... When I connect the new ones in the same way with the same black washers, they seem to leak at the top..

In general domestic washing machines connect to 1/2'' WM valves It sounds like the rubber washers have perished replace them and I would imagine you should be grand

I bought the wrong fekn valves... The wall valves are too small ... Same as the pair of shoes, they seemed to fit in the shop.. Can I get inserts to rectify this..
