Hi guys, need some help, got a new 20 metre hdmi lead yesterday, plugged into into tv and laptop and.......nothing!
I have verified the cable works by plugging it into media player!

The weird thing is if I use my 3 ft hdmi from laptop to tv everything works perfectly??

    Head is wrecked,any suggestions?
    Thanks

Hdmi cables are only reliable , that is, can only be guaranteed to work with any content, and any piece of equipment, up to 8 meters.

8 meters is the limit because no cable longer than that has ever passed the category 2 or high speed hdmi test.

After that the signal drops off due to attenuation, so whether it works or not depends on the strength of the signal from your source.

20 meters is way too long for a hdmi cable, over that distance you are far better off with hdmi to 2xcat5 converters.
