    Hi guys,

I'm not working at the moment and I really need 6x7ft garden shed,
so I saw one in Argos. Do I need to put some kind of base before I get it. It's a galvanised one. I have no tools for mixing cement etc so I was wondering, do I even need a base?

    Hi Beckala,

Afaik you do need a base for it, and it would need to be concrete, when you say you don't have tools for mixing concrete what do you mean?

*Sigh* I have been waiting for a shed base for 2 years. My husband mows the grass inside ours.

Hi beckala you could get someone with a 4 wheel car traiter
go and collect .4 of a cubic metre of concrete from the likes
of kilsaran , roacstone or killeshal and put it in yourself.
.4 0f a metre will give you 4 inches dept in an area of 6 ft x 7ft and weighs less than a ton. It should only cost you around €30 to €40.Just set up your screeds pour it in and level it out job done.

I'd prefer a concrete base, but the above is fine for a garden shed.

I think you will find for steel sheds a concrete base is preferable.
