pool table in garage v cold weather?

    Howdy,

I have a big detached workshop, well built and totally water proof.
I am wanting to put a pool table in there (pub type pool table 7x4) with slate top.
During the winter months etc it does get cold in there as there is no heating inside and won't be putting any in as it's just a workshop.

My question is: will covering the table with massive duvet and blanket over it be enough to protect it when the cold time of year comes around.
Obviously the very cold will not be great for wood but will the pool table be ok do ye think?

Won't be spending a fortune on one, €400 mark.

    Cheers

me father had the same one in a garage years ago. a duvet and some other sort of a cover wasn't enough. within 3 years tables was no good, all moldy, cushions didn't bounce at all and ya couldnt even put backspin on a ball.

if you want the table to last u should put it inside if at all possible

    Cheers,
Was your dads pool table top a slate top or non slate, like mdf or something?
    non-slate surfaces warp easily.
guess it depends on the level of moist etc.
