Inside weather strip dragging on window when put down

I think that says it all. I've got the NCT tomorrow, and my car is a 00, so naturally wear and tear over the years has taken it's toll.

When I pop the driver window down, the rubber weather strip gets dragged down as well, and puts a bit of strain on the motor. I've made sure the glass is properly in the inner track inside the door, and I've had a new regulator put in as well as the old one kicked the bucket.

So I have to put the window all the way down, and then back up, but rubber strip getting dragged down popped the window out of the inner track before, and I'm almost afraid of my window now.

So I'm wondering if a lubricant (from reading the internet, not a silicone based one or WD-40), would sort it out, or should I just pop the window down and take a knife to the trim so it won't meet the glass?

I only plan on keeping the car another year or so before I'm in a position to trade up, but obviously I'll need (or at least should have) my NCT.

    Any suggestions?

Actually silicone is what to go for, but get the right kind. If you feel rich you can go to Halfords and get their 3-in-1 silicone spray for 8 euro (safe for rubber). Or their Silicone Lubricant made for rubber/trim/whatnot.

Mind this will get the window a bit greasy so don't spray too much.

I went to Halfords and got the basic Silicone stuff as it's all they had.

Gave it a right auld lubing. Seems to have done the trick. Did the rubber gaskets all around the door just to be sure. No more drag.

I'll check it again in the morning and give the glass a wipe if I need to. Cheers biko.
