I now have to refelt my garden shed as result of the high winds. It ripped somehow and has folded over on itself.

I was just wondering can I treat the roof itself before putting down the new felt?

No need to. Just get a roll of felt from any of the builders suppliers, about 40€. You'll have enough for 2 sheds on the roll.

YES I RE FELTED MINE I LEFT ON THE OLD FELT FOR ADDED PROTECTION ALSO YOU NEED TO SEAL THE NAIL HOLES WITH A BLACK STUFF FROM THE HARDWARE.

Not if you use a traditional mineral felt, it will self seal.

I replaced the ridge piece on mine. I sealed the edge of the overlap with some bitumen to ensure the wind would not get under it again and lift it. Make sure you choose a calm day for it and get some help if you can. Also make sure you choose a nail length that wont go through the roof planks - they are not that thick.
