Hi Two friends of mine who pay a bit off there bill every week as they are currently unemployed. the bill does be general a bit higher in the winter so it may overlap a small bit between bills.

There was €50 left on last bill and they received there new bill today it was €120 plus €50 from previous bill and a €100 fine for overdue payment this seems a bit steep.

Is this a new policy esb has or has anyone had a similar experience??

    Hi Vickers,

This appears to be an error as Electric Ireland does not impose fines for overdue bills.

There is a €300 security deposit, which is automatically charged to an account (that is only 14 months or less with Electric Ireland) if a direct debit is suspended. This can be removed from the account though if the direct debit details are re-set.

We would recommend that they get in contact with us in order to have their bill charges clarified.

    Regards,
    Una
