Window pane sizing

Hello! I would like to hear your opinions on this, I have a section of curtain walling that I am about to get sized for manufacture and I have options on the glass pane sizes.

The area of one section is 3.4 mtr wide by 2.5 mtr high. What are the pros and cons of having this in a single pane as opposed to having it halved and putting in another frame. My main worries are, is 8mm toughened glass in a double glazed alu-clad unit strong enough to withstand a hard impact in the above dimension?

I would really like to hear your ideas on any problem I may run into if this were a single pane. Thanks.
