Entries narrowed down for the first 3 days
Over the moon to see vulcanite entered on Wednesday in the 6.40
He will win if he runs, he should have a nice weight based on ratings
I can see jezki overturning the form with champagne fever possibly
Would consider having an ew saver on sizing Europe in the champion chase now in foresight of sprinter sacre possibly doesn't come over
Also can see captain Chris going better in the gold cup

Me too. McCoy should be on board too. Power was broootal on him at Cheltenham, somehow managed to find trouble. Hopefully he's a half decent price.

Beware the talking horses, especially the ones that have pissed they're p2p's. Champagne Fever didn't win his bumper first time last year, Teelin Star started at 8/11 in the Point to Point bumper last year after two easy wins, was one of the first beaten that day. Plenty of other examples but my policy for a lot of the bumpers around this time of the year that only have breeding/point to point form to go on is to keep the money in the pocket.
Plenty of other good betting opportunities to be had throughout the week.

On another note I hope Mccoy is well enough to ride(I'm sure he probably will be knowing him)Jezki next week. Track should suit Jezki more than Cheltenham and no Robbie Power is a plus for me. CF will be tough to beat but around Punchestown might be the place to do him for speed.

Yep - given solwhits less than blossoming reports after aintree possibly this is the reason or solwhit isn't running and paddy power know this

Not sure what horse SRFC is referring to but a Mullins horse Made From The West makes her debut last race on the Friday, sire is Westerner, an Ascot gold cup winner. Will keep an eye on it.

I'd say SFRC is talking about Moyle Park in Tuesdays Land Rover Bumper if I had to guess! Been a lot of talk about the the horse with many on here backing him for Cheltenham Bumper. Tuesday was always the target apparently.

No its not him sure everyone seen him bolt up,Faugheen will take serious beating if they run him only Clondaw Court is higher reguarded of the bumpers horses than him including Briar Hill,I'll post the horse as soon as im on the morning it runs thats if it runs Paul Townend was telling us about this thing 2 months ago being aimed at Punchestown.

5/1 the field with PP versus Sprinter Sacre does anyone know if this is ante post?? It's probably odds against he even turns up, this could be a cracking bet

Reckon I'll have a bet on the 5/1 tomorrow, if Henderson doesn't want heavy ground then there'll need to be a heatwave in Kildare over the next few days

    Punchestown Champion Chase
    2013-04-23 17:30
    Back To Future Races
All bets are void if Sprinter Sacre does not run.
    Ante Post Rules Apply

sadly this is what it says when you go onto paddy power, still not the worst bet in the world if he doesnt travel well, but it is ss so no breath holding...

At first I was a little surprised to see Moyle Park not included in the Champion Bumper entries and I can think two logical explanations. Either he hasn't shown as much at home as they thought he would have (which is a worry considering he was well fancied for the bumper he won over Christmas judged by comments from connections after winning) or more realistically that, given that Briar Hill won the Cheltenham equivalent, he deserves to contest the Grade 1 Bumper which is completely understandable and to keep the pair apart.

I got the very distinct impression after Briar Hill won at Cheltenham that it was a bit of a surprise to Willie and he probably brings a lot more to the track then he shows at home. His 25/1 price tag with Ruby on board (who didn't have the choice on the other two) would suggest that.

I really hope the horse your putting up isn't in the Champion Bumper as its lunacy to be that confident with a Rules debutant in the field likely to show up!

I suppose it could very logically be any of the Gigginstown horses as they don't want to send their horses for the Cheltenham Bumper.

There's a shuttle bus to Naas. Then a shuttle there to punch

Harry topper 9-1 the first bit of value ill be lumping onto for Tuesday. Boston bob a small saver

Heading Tuesday to see the big black aeroplane. Cant wait. Lovely looking card, too.

How are ye all getting up there?
Going with a group of lads who all want a few drinks so nobody is driving. Any shuttle buses from Waterford or kilkenny is anybody aware?

I'm sure the Waterford train stops in Sallins and Naas train station. Shuttle bus to Naas for free (5mins). Then you could get a shuttle bus from Naas to punchestown.
Bus Eireann bus from Kilkenny passes through Naas. You could do the same with the shuttle to punchestown after.
My advice outside of that is. Stay in Naas after the buzz is amazing after punch

Soft, soft heavy. Will probably be soft come Tuesday. Leaves harry topper in with an entry for the growise..
The only next year gold cup horses in the field are Boston bob and Harry topper IMO. Can't believe HT is 9-1.
I think these 2 will be the principles rounding the home turn. Hoping Boston bob is flat after Cheltenham.

Boston Bob has been taken out of the betting so he's not running in this now.
Dedigout was staying on best in the Powers Gold Cup, at the prices he looks the one for me and he came good for me at the festival last year. Back in Focus will be tough to beat on soft ground though but not for me at 11/4.

Markets all over the place tonight. Boston Bob taken out of the betting for the novice. Grandouet taken out of the CH betting, and Riverside out to 24s on the exchange for the GC.

    4/9 or 2/5

Anyone know if Rule the world and Our Conor definitely run?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,669 ✭✭✭Colonel Sanders

Rule The World goes over 2m tomorrow

Champagne Fever & Jezki also go

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,669 ✭✭✭Colonel Sanders

Sportinglife have Sprinter Sacre in at 1/4.

    I'd have thought more a 1/7 shot?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,669 ✭✭✭Colonel Sanders

Moyle Park goes in the land rover bumper

Boston Bob & Back in Focus both declared for the novice chase. No jockeys down yet however so both might still not run.
