I know this thread has been done a few times but i'm really struggling here lads, I'v rang First Ireland, aviva and nonosense but they are giving me mad quotes IMO

My insurance was 1200 last year and with a 2 year ncb first Ireland say it's only gone down to 1150? Most of the other companys want 1700. If I can't get it down I might just have to park the car up for a year or so:eek:

    Help needed lads:pac:

Liberty, cheapest usually for young people's car insurance.

You're lucky it's gone down to be fair, most insurance companies are raising their prices.

Anyway, try liberty insurance, they're decent for cheapish quotes for young drivers

Axa, I'm on a student package and my first year was 1900, expensive enough, but i got reviewed every 3 months and I got so much back off it, this year I'm paying 800 so I'd go into one of their places

Its a see-saw with insurance, you can get dirt cheap insurance but the excess can be phenomenal. I think I saw a €3000 excess on here one day. Thats fine if you have the cash but I'd rather pay €1000 for the year and have no worry about coming up with a big excess, then again if you weigh this up against actually having a crash. Another idea might be to drop all the optional extras e.g. Breakdown, Windscreen replacement.
