Why do so many people still shop in Tesco when aldi and lidl are so much better value?
I wouldn't even classify tesco as a low cost retailer anymore.
Apart from the greater selection of items I cannot see another advantage to them.
How have they managed to fool so many people into thinking they are good value?

It's the own brand packaging that nails it for me.

Was there not an almost identical thread in the last 2 days or so?

I always feel down when I leave aldi or lidl. I actually really like my local tesco, except the staff.

Plus, tesco popcorn is the most amazing thing in the world. And they have nicer goats cheese.

Lethargy, brand loyalty, fear of the unknown.

I doubt there are many people left who don't visit Lidl/Aldi even occasionally these days.

Aldi sells loads of top quality produce - regardless of the price of it.

I can't buy celeriac in my local Aldi. Likewise, I can't buy a canoe in my local Tesco.

Not the same since they discontinued the yellow pack brand.

We shop in all thee, Tesco really do have a great range of anything & everything at competitive prices, while Aldi & Lidl 'do their own thing' - and we'd be lost without them . . .

    Viva la choice.

Lots of reasons. I myself will so some of my shop in Lidl but there's plenty of items I just wouldn't buy or are not available in Lidl. I use my local supermarket for those items. I always buy my chocolate croissants Lidl tho. Feckin delish so they are
