I'm in 5th year at the moment and I'm really stuck for an idea for my special topic. I want to avoid Irish and generally European history and and quite interested in American history, especially politics. But I really can't think of any topic specific enough that interests me.
    Any ideas? :)

The more unique your project the better. I wouldn't go asking us for suggestions because they will usually be quite general. Anyway pick a decade that interests you in American history and try to isolate an event which did not gain too much publicity but would have been influential in history from that decade.
