Don't like it. It relies too heavily on valve from cwst to cool in emergency. This could freeze. Also very expensive with a lot of wiring.
It also does not have a true gravity circuit as it is hampered by the pump.
I installed a new product today that meets all new regs that will be out later this year. Cheaper & has gravity circuit. It will be released in August to the general market. I was very impressed with it.

Actually no, never thought of it. Forgot to mention also that a single coil cylinder is only required & not a dual coil so no cylinder swap out required.

Yes that's the one. It's the solid fuel heat exchanger. €450 plus vodka & tonic.

Works a treat & static heads can be greatly reduced where required.

Yes, I have. They are a great job. They will also meet the new solid fuel building regs when they are published where many of the other systems won't. The new regs state that there must be a minimum of 20L volume of heat disapation on the gravity circuit.
Heat exchangers, including the Genie, system links, etc. do not have this. The Firebird has 24L.

The customer where I fitted my first one last March rang me the other day for another job, and I was asking him how it was going. He said he has never looked back where before he had nothing but problems, back boiler stove never heated rads, now they heat all rads nice & toasty & his oil cooker performs 10 times better also.

Also no need for a twin coil cylinder & rads can be fully pressurised.

Highly recommend it. A great design by Firebird.
