    Hi,
my bike seems to be a bit sticky steering one particular direction, I'm guessing the headset needs some tlc.
The bike is a 5 year old Specialized single cross, been going through muck and high water since with only occasional washes and drive train maintenace.
Past few days it's been "sticky" turning in one direction.
I took the handlebars off but didn't detach the fork. Gave it a scoosh of 3-1 and reassembled.
Didn't get a chance to ride it, but still seemed to be creaky.
Given it was getting dark and discretion being the better part of valour, decided to take a raincheck before hammering out the front forks.
I have the obligatory Sheldon Brown link,
just wondered if there were any tips before I start attacking things with a hammer and searching for non-existent ballbearings?
