Weird food habits

Does anybody have any weird(by other peoples standards) food habits. I personally can't eat the inside of a tomato so scoop the inside out and eat just the flesh. I also dissect shop/restaurant bought sandwiches thoroughly before i eat them. Another one is to suck the chocolate off a malteser before eating the honeycomb but think this is probably fairly common:-) well?

i buy the the grapes that have the seeds in them, and i eat them all, seeds too, i like the crunchy taste to them. I find others either buy the seedsless variety or remove the seeds prior to eating.

Its the same with watermelon, i eat the lot.

I eat the chocolate and caramel off the top of a Twix until there is just the biscuit left......then munch on the biscuit.

I do that sort of thing with pretty much every bar but only in private.

It's so humiliating to forget what you're doing and be half-through dissecting your bar into its delicious constituent parts only to realise you have a fascinated and horrified audience.

If i have a bread roll, i cut it open and scoop out most of the doughy bread just leaving the outside. Leaves more room for filling and also i dont like eating so much doughy bread

Ok i confess i do this with jaffa cakes as well- take off the sponge then remove the chocolate then eat the jelly. Think i may sound weirder than i originally thought by the time this thread ends....

I eat the outside of things, like with a Kit Kat ill eat all the chocolate leaving the biscuit

I blast icecream in the microwave so it's soft - too lazy to take it out of the fridge in advance.

I like to melt chocolate in tea and suck the melted chocolate - it looks like I'm performing oral sex on it.

I like cold chips and toast.

my hubby always eats the meat part of his dinner last - when we have meat and 2 veg. He eats the veg first, then the potatoes and then the meat. Eats in the order of least - most preference. Says it leaves the nicest taste in his mouth at the end.

I think that is beyond weird and systematic!! I take a little of each and put it on my fork and eat like a normal person!! :-)

However, if eating a moro bar - I take a small bite off each end, peel off the chocolate top and eat that and then eat the biscuit bit.

Oh, and I also like my glasses of wine REALLY big ;-) !!

Hmm a women might eat the two Veg first then the meat...... As you said nicest taste ;)

I can't breathe on my cereal. I always move my head to the side when I breathe out so it doesn't go into the milk.

I eat the food on my plate anticlockwise. Sometimes I do it by colour, alphabetical order and just to mix it up sometimes I eat it in the order that it was first introduced into Ireland. I have to eat it all, even if I hate it.

Not something I eat at all often but I'd have to go with carefully picking off the outside, then eating the white milky stuff, then disdainfully disposing of the last sad core sponge bit because it deserves no better.

Dime bars are simpler - break off the chocolate then eat the insanely tasty toffee/nut brittle inside.

    Yum.

Right im beginning to sound almost boring compared to some now so i also slice sausages down the middle, press flat with a fork then remove them big white fatty bits phew this is very therapeutic

I chew with my mouth closed. I believe it's a habit that is becoming extinct!
Some people chew like cattle. Horrible, I need to leave the room when i hear it.

That annoys me too, same for people who speak with a mouthful of food and slurp their drinks.

One of my friends, when eating soup, cuts one end of a roll off, hollows it out, then fills it up with the soup and drinks out of it!

You should try biting off each end then suck your tea through it like a straw. When you then bite into it the caramel inside has completely melted.

I do that as well if I have a plain baguette, obviously as a snack at home, and take out and eat the dough inside it, followed by the crust :D

And of course I always trim down the outside of snack bars/mars bars/jaffa cakes/milky bars etc.

Also, I do chew with my mouth close as I absolutely detest people who chew too loudly, or breath really heavily through their nose

I love smoked salmon or tuna on a warm bread roll in the morning. Apparently eating fish for breakfast is weird but it's the best breakfast ever. Screw cereal.

Sometimes I'll buy a small roll and a mars bar, heat up the roll then put the mars bar inside and eat it like a salad roll or whatever. The chocolate and caramel and everything is completely melted on the inside. It's delish and probably so bad for you.

I know a couple of people who don't like their food touching on their plate. My friend's brother also won't eat any cold meats at all, seems to associate it with being raw.

I eat exactly the same things for lunch and supper every single day. I'm just not interested enough in food to plan, buy and eat different things.

I touch the food off my chin before putting it in my mouth.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 478 ✭✭Duvetdays

I love dried super noodles. When I open a packet I'd munch on half the pack dry before cooking them.

Kippers, marmalade and black pudding in between toasted white bread.

    It's sweet,oily,smoky,fishy and meaty.

Freak. Then again, some people have a genetic condition that makes eating boring.

Meat has to be on the righthand side of the plate, spuds on the left and the veg to the rear.
I get very hot & bothered if its presented differently.

I know I shouldn't be I really wanna try that!!

I love the heel of a cottage love, toasted with an absolute hape of butter and ketchup mmmmmmmmm

I love to eat uncooked white pudding.

When I was young I used to eat 4 slices of bread stacked on top of each other without butter or anything - just plain.

When I'm eating I start from the same part of my plate and eat my food section by section, counterclockwise. If I have to get up or do something and my plate gets moved I need to find the exact way the plate was positioned so I can resume eating.

I can't eat food that has a soft texture such as jelly, yogurt, custard etc.

I think we may have been separated at birth, I even married a man with those exact food habits!

He also likes to "take his time" eating? My family chow down as though our plates will be removed in about 5 minutes, therefore we have to clear our plates before that happens :o

Does anyone else bite the Milky Way chocolate off the edges, then eat the inside part?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,572 ✭✭✭✭brummytom

I more or less only eat chicken. Chicken curry, chicken fajitas, fried chicken, plain chicken. That's about it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 769 ✭✭✭nimrod86

If a particular food is on the oposite side of my plate, I'll spin the plate around instead of reaching that small bit further. I also prefer to eat white pudding raw and instant noodles dry. Can't stand milk in cereal, and often add those chocolate mint bars from lidl to my ham, cheese and ketchup sandwiches for lunches. Oh, when feeling really lazy or rushed, I have been known to just eat choclate bars, not bothering to unwrap them!

Same as myself; eat the rabbit food first, then get to the proper food. Inherited this from my grandfather and father. Only way I know how to eat a roast dinner or anything that has veg and potatoes and meat. Meat gets eaten last.
