    Hi I just have a quick question. As regards car tax, is a diesel car much higher in tax compared to a petrol one .

    Motor tax is not based on the fuel type at all, pre 2008 it is based on the cc of the engine and post 2008 it is based on the CO2 emissions. As a result of this the tax on post 2008 diesel cars is cheaper than a petrol. This is not a hard set rule though.
