The last few days my navigation app has been running slow (directions seem to be a little late and the gps has me 50-100 meters behind where i actually am)

    What would cause this?

The only thing I can think of that has changed is I bough a new phone holder. The first was located at the base of the windscreen, the new one is on the dash. So the old one would have an unobstructed sky view. The new one could possibly be looking at the roof
(however, I don't think this is the problem as I have used the navigation fine before with the phone on my lap. just speculating as its the only thing I have changed.)
Surely a car roof would not affect a gps this much?

any other possible causes? The app seems to be working fine, just the gps seems to think im a good few feet behind.

The phone is a galaxy note 2. un-modified.
Im on an unlimited internet package, with reasonable signal.

It needs DIRECT view to the sat. A roof will definately block it.
